The 2.8 release is almost ready. I've got one feature left to merge, and a few things about existing features to tweak. Then it will, as always, enter a release candidate stage where more tweaks will happen, giving time to translators to submit translations, etc.
I had planned 2 more big features for 2.8, and came up with one more spontanously, but they can wait. I need the mental checkpoint of a stable release.
@Gargron we are all eager to see how upgrading from 2.7x to 2.8 will work :)
@warrenmyers Is there some uncertainty about that? It will work just like 2.6 to 2.7, 2.5 to 2.6, etc...

@warrenmyers In that case do not worry. You can look at past release notes on GitHub to get a feel what kind of upgrade instructions there are, you will notice it's just a few commands that are the same every time
@Gargron @warrenmyers This is was my main problem about 6 months ago, tried to do an update and the entire instance died. Hopefully this time will be smother
